About SDDesigns

When approaching getting my degrees I aimed to find something I was passionate about and turn that into my career. I've always enjoyed working with small businesses either as a normal employee or helping with design choices within the business. I found myself working with a local bookstore cafe and that evolved into me being responsible for all the chalkboard signs and artwork in the store.

Currently, I'm pursuing the goal of becoming a book cover designer. Whether I want to work for a major publishing house such as Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury, Del Rey, etc. or indie authors is to be determined. However, I know that I want to be a part of the process of helping readers discover new worlds that were built my authors because, no matter the cliches, people do judge books by their covers.

Eagle County Fair and Rodeo

During the 2023 Eagle County Fair and Rodeo, I took on photographing a majority of the events including calf-tying, barrel racing, mutton busting, bull-riding, bronco riding, etc. This was a new experience with photography for me due to the dusty conditions and working from the stands.

Embroidery Portfolio

During 2021, I built a portfolio in which I took color inspiration from old embroideries that my late grandmother made and made a series of 6" embroideries that showed my interpretation of that color pallet.
